Whether it’s a gift card for a patient in need, or an unopened toy for a child in our care, non-monetary donations can make a big impact on patient experience.
It’s often those small, overlooked items that help alleviate anxiety most when it comes to a stressful or unexpected Hospital visit.

Ways to support
Gift cards
Gift cards are a great way for staff to help patients in need after they leave the Hospital. Please consider donating gift cards from retailers that provide:
- Coffee (Tim Horton's, Starbucks, etc.)
- Meals (restaurants that offer delivery or fast food chains: Subway, McDonald's, etc.)
- Personal hygiene products (Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall)
- Groceries
- iTunes cards (helpful in many departments to support music therapy)
- Department Stores (Amazon, Walmart, etc.)
- Xbox or Nintendo Digital Gift Cards
- Local retailers who might support items for babies and children
New and unopened toys
We accept small toy items that are new and wrapped in original sealed packaging without any pieces or parts exposed to the outside environment. New items can also be placed in a clear plastic resealable bag for extra protection.
Our Children's department loves to give out smaller gifts to patients since they are easy to store and easy for families to take home.
These items include:
- Single hot wheels car packs
- Single Barbie's/action figures
- Small Lego sets
- Single Play-Doh tubs
Hygiene and toiletry supplies
Hygiene and toiletry supplies support patients who have extended stays at the Hospital as well as those who enter our emergency department in need.
Hygiene and toiletry items must be new in original packaging in a fully sealed box or in a clear plastic resealable bag for items that do not come in a fully sealed box (i.e. for bottles of soap or deodorant).
Most requested items:
- Liquid soaps (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner)
- Toothpastes and toothbrushes
- Deodorant (for men and women)
- Feminine hygiene products
Items we are unable to accept
Due to Hospital infection, prevention and control polices, and space limitations, we are unable to accept the following items:
- Used novels or magazines
- Items with exposed parts or pieces
- Items made from wood or containing wooden pieces
- Large toy items (ex. slides, toys in large boxes, large stuffed animals)
