Cath Lab 160 km Cycle Ride
Supporting the Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) Cath Lab Project
On Sunday August 30, I will be cycling over 160 km to raise funds towards this important life saving Cath Lab project at Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN).
Give today to support my ride! Whatever amount you can donate will be much appreciated and help save lives.
Please help me raise important funds for the $10 Million WRHN Cath Lab project, whose goal is to have three fully operational labs available by 2028 from the current two.

Why I'm fundraising
On June 27, 2024, I suffered a heart attack.
Like others this has happened too, it came unexpected and had a profound impact on me. The only real symptom I was suffering from was a shortness of breath while cycling which I thought was a lingering bronchitis!
I was wrong and had blockage in both the left coronary and main coronary arteries!
However, due to the fantastic care and support I received by Dr. Syad and the cardiac care team in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at St. Mary’s Hospital (now WRHN @ Queen's Blvd.) I’ve been afforded the wonderful gift of more time!
Please help me raise important funds for the $10 Million WRHN Cath Lab project, whose goal is to have three fully operational labs available by 2028 from the current two.
The project has raised to date $5M however needs further community support to reach the target financial goal.
Currently the 2 WRHN Cath Labs performs just over 20 cardiac procedures per day serving a population area of over 1.4 Million people. One of the Cath Labs was recently renovated and the goal is build a new lab by spring of 2027, so that the other existing lab can then be taken off line for much needed renovations.
As a former Co-founder of the Tour de Waterloo cycling event in support of the Grand River Hospital Foundation, I’m hopeful that a new 2027 cycling event can be started again to raise even more funds for the new WRHN hospital to be built in the KW region.
Give today to support my ride! Whatever amount you can donate will be much appreciated and help save lives.
