WRHN @ Midtown is home to one of the largest Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario clinics in the province, alongside a pediatric cardiology clinic, a cystic fibrosis clinic, and mental health support for children and youth from birth to 18.

WRHN @ Midtown is home to one of the largest POGO pediatric oncology clinics in Ontario, serving children and families for more than 25 years.

Growing to Meet Demand
WRHN’s pediatric cardiology clinic saw nearly 500 kids last year and recently added a second cardiologist to double clinic hours.

Nearly 100 teams of hockey players, corporate sponsors, and everyday donors take part in Scotland’s Yard’s Road Hockey Classic each year.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
A Level 2B unit with 24 beds, caring for newborns born at 32 weeks gestation or later who need close monitoring, extra breathing support, or IV medicine. The NICU cares for about 1,000 babies each year.
Pediatric Emergency Department
Last year, more than 20,000 kids depended on WRHN for emergency care, with a dedicated team trained to treat children and youth.
Pediatric Cardiology Clinic
Now staffed by two pediatric cardiologists, with clinic hours recently doubled to offer more consults, diagnostic testing, and pre- and post-op care close to home.
Cystic Fibrosis & Bronchiectasis Clinic
Ongoing medical management, education, and support for children and youth managing these conditions in everyday life.

Child & Youth Mental Health
Outpatient mental health support for children and youth, including family-based treatment for eating disorders.
Those are expensive pieces of equipment that we wouldn't have had without donors. That's equipment that allowed Grayson to heal, and it also made it easier for the nurses to do their jobs.

Grayson's story
"Should we call a Code Pink?" That's what Geoff Johnston heard from a nurse moments after his wife, Allie, gave birth to their son Grayson at WRHN @ Midtown, a month early via scheduled C-section. Grayson was grunting, struggling to get air into his underdeveloped lungs.
"He felt so tiny, and there were wires and tubes everywhere. But we were so grateful to feel him breathing on our chests."
Grayson spent seven days in WRHN's NICU before going home. Now a strong-willed toddler, he has a name banner in his room that once hung from his incubator, a daily reminder of the donor-funded equipment that helped him heal, and the nurses who cared for their whole family.

What does my gift actually fund?
Your donation funds equipment and programs for children and youth at WRHN. Gifts to greatest needs give our care teams the flexibility to replace essential equipment the moment it breaks down, across the NICU, inpatient, and outpatient programs. Scotland's Yard has also funded equipment like a PET-CT scanner and a pediatric echocardiogram for the kids cardiac clinic.
How can I support pediatric care at WRHN?

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
Yes. WRHN Foundation is a registered Canadian charity (Charitable Registration No. 889180394 RR 0001), and tax receipts are issued for eligible donations. Monthly donors receive an annual tax receipt each February covering all gifts from the previous calendar year.​
If my child needs care, who should I contact?
Most care for children and youth begins with a referral from a family doctor or nurse practitioner. For chest pain or other life-threatening symptoms, go to your nearest Emergency Department immediately.
